Armed men land on the sets of Salman's 'Race 3' after last week's death threat to the actor from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi
Nearly a week after gangster Lawrence Bishnoi issued a death threat to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan over his almost two-decade old blackbuck hunting case, the shooting of Bhaijaan's upcoming action-thriller 'Race 3' was cancelled by Mumbai Police after armed men reached Film City on Wednesday, where the actor was shooting for the film, as per a report published in Mumbai Mirror.

"The police arrived at the Race 3 set in Film City and told Salman and producer Ramesh Taurani that the shoot had to be stopped immediately as the actor needed to head home as soon as possible. Salman was escorted in another car by six cops, while his own car was driven back to his residence by another group of cops," a source from the set told the tabloid.

Earlier, Lawrence Bishnoi, one of the most notorious gangsters of Rajasthan, who was produced in the Jodhpur Court a day after Salman Khan, had issued the death threat to the actor as he belongs to the Bishnoi community, who worship the blackbuck, an endangered animal which the superstar is accused of killing.

Bishnoi faces charges of murder, extortion, car-jacking and snatching among other crimes. While the gangster was being taken to the court by the Rajasthan Police, he told media persons, "Salman Khan will be killed here, in Jodhpur... Then he will come to know about our real identity," further adding, "Now, if the police want me to do some major crime, I shall kill Salman Khan and that too in Jodhpur."

Following Bishnoi's threats, Salman has been provided extra security by the Mumbai Police who have been taking the threat seriously. Not only that, the actor has been assured of maximum police protection by the Mumbai Police.

"This is not the first time a threat has been issued against Salman or a member of his family, and the actor is often spotted about town without security or even his bodyguard, Shera, but anticipating an unprecedented attack, he has been asked to be extra safe," a senior inspector revealed.

Ever since Bishnoi issued the threat to Salman, the actor has been advised to stay away from his cycling sessions.

Talking about this case, Ramesh Taurani said, "There are additional bouncers, guards and personnel to safeguard Salman and the unit at all times."
