Armenian weightlifter breaks his elbow at Rio Olympics
In another tragic news, Armenian weightlifter Andranik Karapetyan broke his left elbow during his second attempt to lift 195kg.

Karapetyan was participating in men's 77kg category. As he attempted to lift the weight, his left arm gave way, breaking his elbow and the weight falling down with a jerk. In the video, his elbow could be seen popping out of it's socket during the clean and jerk lift. This was his second attempt at the Rio Games.

The 20-year-old is considered as the European champion in the 77kg category.

The horrible injury left him screaming in pain, with medics and trainers rushing to his aid before he walked off the stage. He was given first aid and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

His Armenian trainers could be seen with their heads in their hands at the sight of the injury.

Clutching his arm, Karapetyan was left in tears as he left the arena and was rushed to hospital, with his Olympic dreams shattered.

Kazakhstan's Nijat Rahimov proceeded to win the gold medal while China's Lu Xiaojun won the silver and Egypt's Mohamed Ihab Youssef secured the bronze medal.

Recently, in Rio Olympics, French gymnast Samir Ait Said had broken his leg while attempting to land a vault on the first day of competition. Said was the first casualty of the Games.
