Army Day: 'Indian Army exemplifies professionalism, selfless commitment and unparalleled bravery'
In Jaipur, the South-Western Command of the army held its investiture ceremony and celebrated Army Day on January 15 to honour 30 gallantry award winners by Lieutenant General Gyan Bhushan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Command in the presence of senior army officers and invited civil dignitaries.

On January 14, events such as horse show, para-jumping, malkhambh and motorcycle display were held to commemorate 'dedication to duty by soldiers who have shown unmatched courage, loyalty and sacrifice for the country during their course of duty', said an army official.

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee extending his greetings and felicitations to all officers, soldiers, civilians, ex-servicemen and their families on the eve of the Army Day said, "The Indian Army exemplifies professionalism, selfless commitment and unparalleled bravery. It continues to defend our borders across some of the most challenging terrains in the world. I pay my respect to our brave martyrs, who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The nation is indebted to them and their families."

Appreciating the Indian Army's contribution to nation building and the commitment of our soldiers to the service of the nation, he added, "I am confident that in keeping with its glorious traditions, the Indian Army will continue to do the nation proud."
