Meanwhile the Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir Omar Abdullah has asked the people not to get tensed because of the present situation in the state and assured that government will restore calm, as soon as possible. The curfew in the state was extended to Udhampur, Samba and Kathua, and has affected almost seven districts of Jammu region.
Jammu's divisional commisioner Shantmanu informed that curfew has been imposed in Udhampur, Kathua and Samba districts on Sunday as a precautionary measure and Army has also been deployed in the areas to assist local administration.
"The situation is tense but under control. There are no reports of any untoward incident today. Army has staged flag marches in several areas,” reported TOI.
The Pathankote-Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only road link between Jammu and the rest of the country has not been closed due to the curfew, but additional forces are deployed there. The state police said that restrictions have been also imposed on assembly of people in areas other than under curfew.
