The Men's 50 km Mass Start Classic Cross Country skiing event saw Norway skier Petter Northung win the gold medal, while German Axel Teichmann got the silver and Sweden skier Johan Olsson bagged the bronze medal.
NORWAY WON its final gold in the Men's 50 km Mass Start Classic Cross Country skiing, when skier Petter Northung came first, finishing in 2:05:35:5 time at the last day of the Vancouver Olympics 2010. The ski event which took place at the Whistler Olympic Park also saw Germany and Sweden add a silver and bronze medal to their tally.
German Axel Teichmann finished second, getting a silver as he came just 0.3 seconds behind Norway's Petter Northung, finishing the event in 2:05:35:8. Johan Olsson got the bronze for Sweden, finishing at 2:05:36:5.
The fourth and fifth position in the 50 Km Mass Start Classic went to German Tobias Angerer and Devon Kershaw. United States skier James Southam came on the 28th rank, finishing the ski event in 2:10:08:3 while his fellow countryman Kris Freeman, was one of the five skiers who did not finish the event.
