Vancouver Olympics: Medal Count, Canada Wins Gold beats USA 3-2
The mood is sombre. To sum up the saga, the Games 2010 have witnessed every emotion that God would have created for human beings to experience. Pride, agony, exuberating energy delirium, 2010 Olympics saw it all.

Canada won the final Gold at the Vancouver Olympics as it beat USA 3-2 in the final Ice Hockey match USA vs Canada.



While the Americans set a record for most total medals at a Winter Olympics, Canada breaks the record for most golds at a Winter Games with a win over the U.S. in hockey today.


Roberto Luongo came out strong with 33 shots, 31 saves in the game.While Team USA too put up a great fight with Ryan Miller sending 35 shots and 33 saves.



With the latest win, Canada has set a record with maximum Gold Medals 14 at any Olympic event till date. US stands second with 9 golds, 15 silver and 13 bronze a total of 37 medals.



THE CRIES in the chilly winter air are slowly on their way to sobering down. The Winter Olympics 2010 –17-days of maniac fan fare, some tragic lessons, and some goofy exits come to an end Sunday night in Vancouver.

For example 2010 broke the European dominance in the Olympic games. US and Canada remained the spotlight of the events –from Ice Hockey to bob sleighing, US proved its mettel in the Winter Olympics by winning a record 36 medals—9 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze.


After the U.S. women’s speed skating pursuit team lost in the semifinals and the bronze medal match yesterday, and after parallel giant slalom snowboarder Chris Klug bowed out in the quarterfinals of his event, and skiers



Bode Miller and Ted Ligety were disqualified for missing gates in the slalom, the U.S. had only one last hope to claim a 37th medal late yesterday afternoon.
 
The American four-man bobsled team piloted by Steve Holcomb came through.
 
The American squad took gold in relatively convincing fashion, defeating a four-time Olympic champion from Germany in the process and winning America’s first gold in bobsled in 62 years.
