Arunachal's Kendriya Vidyalaya at Tenga Valley holds alumni meet as partner in school development
These days, various schools and groups of students passing out of schools are promoting the formation of Alumni Associations as registered bodies for remaining connected with their schools and one another. These associations create their social media sites also to exchange information about ex-students and their activities.

These associations also connect to the present students and share their experiences as well as have stake in the development and improvement in their alma maters. At the second alumni meet conducted at Kendriya Vidyalaya at Tenga Valley (KVTV) in Arunachal Pradesh, first, the all the alumni and faculty members along with the principal of the school discussed the organizational aspects of the meet and formalized the programme and activities to be conducted.

Ex-student Fagos Ratan Pakyong was unanimously elected as the Secretary of KVTV Alumni Association and Brij Kishore Thakur its treasurer on November 27 during the meet.

"Alumni also shared their opinion for the improvement and development of the school. And then, with the melodious welcome song, we were warmly welcomed on the assembly ground. Thereafter, interaction session was conducted in which many alumni shared their Vidyalaya's inspirable moments of with the students. Arunachali traditional dance was also performed by the students to mark the day," wrote the elected secretary on association's site.

Pakyong said that the main objective of formation of alumni association was to create an extra helping layer for the school and reminded the ex-students not to forget that the school had given them a lot. "Let's join our hands together for the betterment of our school and needy students," he urged the members of the alumni gathered for the meet.
