Arvind Kejriwal - just another politician?
Besides embarking on a wave of allegation politics, what has Arvind Kejriwal achieved so far for the aam aadmi, in whose name he is fighting the anti-corruption battle? What is most intriguing about this bureaucrat-turned-activist-turned-politician is why can't he approach a court of law and prove the allegations?

ONCE THE right hand of Gandhian Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal is more seem on Indian TV  than celebrities and top politicians – thanks to his 'drama of corruption' he has become the most newsworthy celebrity in the country.

His strategy is simple – point fingers at politicians as much as you can. Thanks to his wit, he calle doff his fast protest after realising that government or for that matter aam aadmi of the country, in whose name he is fighting, didn't care much about his struggle. Preferring staying alive and becoming a celebrity instead of dying 'for nothing', Kejriwal changed the strategy by announcing the launch of a political party.

Donning a white Gandhian cap, Kejriwal pretends to be a saviour of aam aadmi, which can be made out from the words, 'main aam aadmi hoon' inscribed on it. “The cap symbolises our politicians who are dishonest to the country and Kejriwal has proved that he belongs to the same breed. He is misusing public donation which came from his anti-corruption movement,” said Bikram Kaul, social activist.

What have Kejriwal and his team achieved so far? Currently, he picked Robert Vadra, son-in-law of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi by raising questions of 'undue benefits' from real estate company DLF and inflated electricity bills. He has shown his political jaws by taking on what many see to be a careful quieten on India’s most powerful political family.

“He is playing his strengths and addressing himself in front of TV cameras which have been helping his team throughout last year; even some media houses are cheering for his cause. This team has masterfully designated the media with mystery about the next episode and their style made for media splashes,” said Tanya Goel, another social activist.

She further said “I consider him a coward; he raised fingers on all with falsehood and unproved allegations. However, he has no courage to go to a court to prove his claims despite the presence of a high profile lawyer, Prashant Bhushan in his team.”

His party may have set an example to challenge mainstream political parties, but it is equally crucial for a new politician and his party to maintain credibility. Besides raising fingers on other politcians, what has Kejriwal achieved so far? Certainly nothing. India needs solutions, not a wave of allegation politics. Going by his actions, it seems the symbol of his party would be 'raised finger'.
