Arvind Kejriwal as the Prime Ministerial candidate of AAP
Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister of AAP Government has done well to refuse security cover and has done equally well to demand a smaller residence for himself. He has discarded the VIP culture by refusing red beacon cars for himself and his ministers. Now he has vowed to fight corruption even if his life is at stake.

He has stated clearly that he would try all the corrupt ministers of the previous Congress Government including Sheila Dikshit and would not spare even corrupt leaders of BJP or corrupt Ministers of his own party. He is truly a Gandhian in letter and spirit.

Now, the National Executive of his AAP wants him to fight the elections for the Lok Sabha in 2014 and appear as a third alternative besides Mr. Rahul Gandhi and Mr. Modi. However, he is yet to take a decision in this regard and much would depend on how he performs. His performance would be judged by the people.

Moreover, he must not only fight corruption but also vow to bring back black money stacked abroad and recover money involved in corruption so that he could spend it on the development of the country. That would make him a preferential Prime Ministerial candidate.

I would say, you have a very honest wish to see Kejariwal as PM with AAP being the ruling party of India. I respect that wish & practically we all right minded people share the same wish. However, we must sense the reality also. Managing a city state on a single issue of corruption is one thing & understanding the national polity is another thing. They are yet have stands on various issues. I ignore Bhusan's J&K comment. But the party also avoid a stand on Khap Panchayats. There are huge issues including economy on which they have to make their stand, then strategy, vision & a road map. Don't think they can do all those in a period of few months. Thus should shed over ambitiousness & consolidate at ground first. Regarding VIP culture, let me just give you some examples which are never highlighted in media. Manik Sarkar, CM of Tripura for couple of time resided in his 2 room flat, don't have vehicle, goes to assembly by walk, no corruption, neither red beacon. Raman Singh for last seven year never used red-becon. Mamata Banerjee's life style is the same as was her struggling years. Manohar Parikar uses his own house & even car! V.S.Achyutanandan while on power used a very simple living. Thus there are many examples of austerity measures & Lal Bahadur Shatry tops them. Thus instead of all these, I really want AAP to perform. It has much things to do in Delhi. Yesterday a sting showed how rampant corruption is still prevailing in Delhi. Thus his main focus to change the Delhi administration. If he succeeded in six months, I would believe that his revolution really succeed!
