I am also not inclined to conclude any opinion regarding recent allegations, for which he is behind the bar. Police is investigating & then matter will be adjudicated by court. I believe in the logic that till convicted one should be considered innocent! Thus I don’t find any merit to judge him on this count.
But what comes to the scrutiny is the drama involved from registration of FIR to his arrest. Asaram didn’t come to police station rather decided to be evasive. His media speeches were in very bad taste.
He sometime coined conspiracy theory, sometimes displayed anger & indecently questioned the character of the accuser! Apart from this, his followers too indulged in vandalism & uncivilized protests. The ugliest protest was when he was arrested from his Indore Ashram!
Honestly I always feel that Gandhi (true Bapu) is always considered worldwide as one of most respected Saint, a great Guru & most adored spiritual soul! Even if involved in political arena, none had ever considered him a politician. He is always a true Mahatma.
He had highest followers perhaps! 90% of the country was following him; forget about the followers living abroad. He was against the British raj, but whenever police came to arrest him, he presented himself without any delay & protest. His teachings to his followers were such noble, that none had ever protested his arrest in any ugly manner!
Gandhi never accepted the British rule, but always respected the laws enforced irrespective of the fact whether those are right or wrong. Decency & discipline in public living was the hallmark of his public life as well of his followers.
With the above comparison, I conclude that Asaram is what “unbecoming of a Saint” instead becoming a saint! One might have 6 crore or 60 crore or even 600 crore followers, but I believe quality always matter, not the quantity so far as sainthood is considered. Thus on quality matter….. Asaram clearly fails to be a Saint or God-man!
This is purely my personal opinion & not intended to hurt his followers’ emotion.
