AN ANGRY mob opposing Asaram Bapu's demeaning remarks on Delhi rape victim set the gate of the camp on fire and vandalised the camp premises. The police have not been able to identify and pin down the people involved in the incident.
Reportedly, the Sannyasi Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Sant Mahasabha and Akhil Bharat Purohit Mahasabha are all set to oppose Bapu's visit. According to Swami Chidananda, Bapu's remarks on the Delhi rape victim were inappropriate since religious gurus were supposed to propagate dharma for a harmonious society and not to offend anybody.
Many political and social groups including women activists have decided to protest Bapu's visit to Allahabad during Kumbh Mela.
