After the sudden transfer of last commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), Vijay Singh Dhaiya, the post was vacant for almost two months. But yesterday (Monday) Ashok Sangwan was appointed as new MCG Chief who will be serving as the fifth commissioner of the corporation in just five years of its existence.
On Monday, he took over the responsibility as MCG commissioner and started working on the same day. Before coming to Gurgaon, Sangwan was appointed as District Commissioner of Yamuna Nagar and also its Municipal Commissioner.
Born and brought-up in Rohtak district of Haryana Sangwan belongs to 23 IAS cadre. He was welcomed by Gurgaon's chief engineer BS Singroha, superintendent engineer and Joint Commissioner YK Garg and Anju Chaudhary.
Sangwan took all details of current working and work history from all MCG officials and discussed various issues.
