There is still another bridge to be crossed, which is the defeat of the third opponent Bangladesh at the hands of the fourth competitor Sri Lanka.That only would allow India to surge ahead.
Obviously, the Indians are ruing the missed chances in Mirpur when they allowed Bangladesh to dominate and run away with the honours. But – there is no use of crying over spilt milk.
That loss would keep coming back to haunt M S Dhoni & Co. for a long time. It is most unfortunate that a stage has come in Indian cricket when India has to stoop so low and depend on the loss of others to strengthen their own position.
