Asia Cup 2012: India's fate once again hangs in the balance
Till recently India used to call the shots in cricket but, today, the fate of the Men in Blue in the Asia Cup 2012 hinges on whether Bangladesh wins against Sri Lanka or not. If it does, then India..

THE HEROICS of Virat Kohil with his 183 runs, plus Sachin Tendulkar’s 52-runs innings and defeating Pakistan convincingly kept the Indian viewers happy on the Sunday afternoon.

However, that win does not mean that the arch rivals India and Pakistan would meet again for the finals on the 22nd March 2012.

There is still another bridge to be crossed, which is the defeat of the third opponent Bangladesh at the hands of the fourth competitor Sri Lanka. That only would allow India to surge ahead.

Obviously, the Indians are ruing the missed chances in Mirpur when they allowed Bangladesh to dominate and run away with the honours. But – there is no use of crying over spilt milk.

That loss would keep coming back to haunt M S Dhoni & Co. for a long time. It is most unfortunate that a stage has come in Indian cricket when India has to stoop so low and depend on the loss of others to strengthen their own position.

This can be said to be an extremely topsy-turvy way of looking at things.
