As a consequence of the increasing consumerism induced nationalism, the Rightist tendencies are increasing. But say it because of the US-led West or otherwise because of its own, the Left is a potent force in global politics. The demands for more equality, more equity, better transparency, more freedom and respect for rule of law and human rights are in vogue. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) community’s support is gaining ground and in Washington DC, Democrats are dominating over the Republicans.
The asymmetry and inequalities are increasing with time and with that the income gap between rich and middle classes and poor. There is increasing demands the world over to share the fruits of globalization more equally and to reduce the rising differences. Climate change is also attracting the attention of global public. All these put a question mark on how the societies should evolve all over the globe. The fact is that inventions of newer technologies would make people more solipsistic but the demands for more equality and equity may put some curbs on economic activities and may also put a question mark on the continuity of capitalism in the West. This sounds astonishing as the West has almost won a war over economic ideology with the communist world. But people in the West are increasingly questioning the capitalist model themselves: this tells at the limits of earth’s growth and how different and related, evolutions have been on earth.
The growth not only changes the consciousness it also affects the measure of asymmetry. If asymmetries of brains are lesser than those of economic parameters then people may protest and even revolt. It is becoming harder for people to accept the realities: biggest among them is that the West led by the US is irreversibly dominant civilization. This is true of the West as well where ‘Post American World’ theories are gaining ground. Such increases the non-economic inflations and also second and third stage of illiteracy all over the world with some becoming overconfidence while others loosing faith in themselves skewing the earth’s demographic equations in the process. Consciousness has another aspect in modern context and that is the ‘indefinite extension of the state’. Because of this people believe that their states are macho-states and they can do everything that the US can do. No respect for differences in psychological evolutions, races, cultures, institutions, and economics: it is blatant end of history on screen strangely forced by capitalism. Obviously, people then would look for absolute end to history. The West, particularly the US, would not get much benefit by supporting it.
Let us now discuss this topic in some details in the major civilizations. Since Hindus are mostly confined to India, except by immigration and in Nepal, Hindus would be considered only by talking about India.
If one wants to fairly understand India he and she should not forget to factor-in factors like caste and Indians' obsessive compulsions for imports. India is run mostly by those people who can deliver astonishing results to individuals while maintaining the historical inertias for the masses. India is run by contradictions and anomalies. Caste system acts like an attractor: for lower castes and outcastes and for many minorities as well.
In order to understand India one needs to understand distributions and differences. Hindus would never die for any ideology, including modernized Hindu nationalism nor would they suffer because of anything. The adaptability of Hindus makes many things in Hinduism which may otherwise appear nauseating, acceptable and un-harmful. But in reality and in practical terms, the eternity is an excuse to dominate and contain different people. Divisionism makes Hindus stronger, many times, if not always. Therefore, as long as riches do not try to suppress middle classes and poor, the status quo can be easily maintained in India. The fact is that it is the riches of India who themselves are changing more with time in relative sense considering the changes taking place in outside world. The middle classes themselves are not ready to bring revolutions in India. But sure, if corruption is not checked in India at the local levels then people may protest. The daily requirements of people need to be met and if the political, bureaucratic and business elites are able to provide them that then the dominance of the most dominant is guaranteed in India. Also, Indians have the habit to tolerate corruption at high level.
The Islamic world in modern days is embroiled in battles between Islamists and liberals and they are eternal and perpetual in this high consciousness era. So is the sectarian fight: internet need not be an additive tool always in totality for Muslims. Time may not unite all Muslims together; not even for fight for establishing global Caliphate under the leadership of Imam Mahdi.
The fact is that Islamic world is burning because of its unending wish to compete and many times dominate over Christians, Jews and the so called heathens, without Muslims being primary producers and equivalent innovators. The truncated evolution is taking its toll on believers of Islam in these modern times. If they don’t adapt they would be relegated to medieval times but if they do the purity of Islam may be in danger in the strictest Arabic sense. The only solution for them is to build institutions which are modern but are Islamic in nature. The Muslim world needs to think in its own way, the world beyond religion. It is easier to be tried where Muslims are primary non-converted people and they are in majority. Muslims all over the world are united by Unitarian Allah, Prophet Mohammad, Koran and other sacred Islamic texts. The underlying unity is far deeper than the apparent divide over sects. They should use their unity to reach over consensus on political and economic matters.
In spite of huge economic success China cannot have independent strategy or evolution of its own. The West is too much involved there. The fact is that bloated nationalism in China: G2; China and the US, is hugely inflationary though its proposal is not harmful to China at this stage. China needs to redirect its economy from export-based to consumer-based and for that it needs great support from the West. The fact is with rising living standards and consciousness, many Chinese would one day demand what in the West is taken for granted: rule of law, respect for human rights, if not outright Parliamentary democracy. But changes in China is more likely to come by consensus as Chinese are very pragmatic people.
In Russia, Russians are struggling to get the respect, dignity and privilege reserved for Whites and fair people. One day Russia would transform into a democracy as desired by their elites and middle classes and that would be the biggest victory for the Westerners. For the time being Russians should strive to get more fundamental rights concerning their daily local lives and the larger issues about accountability and democracy should be left to future. But unlike Russia, democratic changes in China may not improve things for the Westerners.
Now about the Christians except Russians, but one must be careful in distinguishing Western Christians from non-Western Christians. There is not much great about non-Western Christians except by the fact that in dress-codes and in some other respects they are more liberal than non-Christians. The Western Christians are embarked on the path of dominating the globe and they have been doing it since industrial revolution in Europe. The tools available to them are capital, products, institutions, ideas and militaries. They can go to any extent, including inducing second and third kind of illiteracy after ending the primary, more fundamental illiteracy. Inflations: of dictating prices and inducing hopes is also one of their methods. The fact is that there is no simple evolution for humans: where all get benefited and no society is left. But probably this is not the way the earth has evolved nor would it in any foreseeable future.
