Serena Williams defeated Belgian Justine Henin in the Women's singles final at Australian Open Championship 2010 at Melbourne Park on Saturday night.

SERENA WILLIAMS defeated Belgian Justine Henin in the Women's singles final at Australian Open Championship 2010 at Melbourne Park on Saturday night. Serena Williams has made it back-to-back Australian Open crown.

Top seeded Serena Williams defeated Justine Henin 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to retain her Australian Open Championship 2010. The victory is the 12th Grand Slam singles title of Williams' career, and the American now equals compatriot Billie Jean King in sixth place on the all-time women's Grand Slam singles title list.

During the final match, Serena Williams served 12 aces and Justin Henin served 4 aces. Serena converted 64 per cent first serves into win while Justin converted 50 per cent. Top seeded Serena made three double faults and Justin six.

Henin, was playing her first major in 20 months after retiring in 2008.
