Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner travels faster than sound
Felix Baumgartner has suddenly rose to fame as he is said to have traveled at a speed more than that of sound. It was a great achievement by the Austrian skydiver that has caught the whole world in awe.

FELIX BAUMGARTNER, an Austrian skydiver travelled faster than sound. It is a fact not a fiction. It was after this accomplishment that the skydiver became a popular figure all around the world just within an hour.

Forty minutes after Red Bull posted his picture on Facebook, where he is seen kneeling down on earth after jumping from 24 miles above the surface of the earth or one could say above 128,097 feet, it received 216,000 likes, 10, 000 comments and more than 29,000 shares.

The entire episode was shown live across the Internet, which had a delay of around 20 seconds. Hence, it was something people around the world were watching with keen interest, as the objective of the jump was said to beat the speed of sound, when taking a leap from such height. There were many close friends along with other people who were keeping a close track of his free-fall. He did not disappoint any of them. It was an act, which required a lot of courage. The Austrian had plenty of it. Such tasks would not be possible with fear in one's mind. It can play a negative role on the mind of the person involved.

According to officials, it has been said that Baumgartner has become the first person ever to break the speed of sound. There were very few people who would even think, it was possible, but this skydiver showed 'nothing is impossible'. Brian Utley, of the International Federation of Sports Aviation came out in the open and said that Felix had reached a speed of 833.9 mph, reported AP. This speed is considered to be faster than sound, which stands at around 768 mph.

Baumgartner knew about the task in hand, which was not going to be an easy one. There were some risks involved in the act, but he came out clear to set this record, which might take some years to be broken. Along with this record, he also broke the record for the highest parachute jump as well.
