Average Americans addicted to iPads and convergence device
In the age of technology, being addictive to gadgets is quite possible, more so for Americans. These days, it is being reported convergence devices such as iPads are the latest love of Americans.

WITH STEVE Jobs as their technical Godfather, Americans are slowly turning into gadgetics (addicted to gadgets) and more so with the latest iPad. The iPad is helping to create a world that can hold video conversations, take pictures, everyone can befriend everyone, talk to celebrities and know about their personal lives, cook, educate and LOL with their friends. Thus, it is not strange if it is suggested that Americans are addicted to their iPads.

As reported in www.usatoday.com, prices of tablets are dropping and Americans are trading their favourite ‘in front of the television time’ for tablet time. The convergence device, iPad, seems to have a special power over the Americans as they do not gossip with friends over the phone, get together for a party or read a book anymore but do all of this through their iPads. Everything is available on the tablet as an application form, be it a video game app or a newspaper app.

This is a good thing as far as development of devices goes and usability. These days average American posses a tablet for every member of the family. About 55 percent of Americans, last year, said they will buy or are considering buying an additional device for family members according to a survey by market research firm IHS iSuppli, reported USA Today. Another research said that 42 percent of the iPad owners plan to buy the next iPad as soon as it's released.

This might not seem strange for an American, who posses multiple laptops and desktops but in India, the culture of 1 man-1 device is yet to set in. In an average Indian urban family, one device is considered to be enough for the whole family as we are yet to understand privacy issues like not to look into a folder in a desktop.
