Awareness drive for 'Kiran Bedi Scholarship Scheme for Girls' launched in Punjab
It will not be now a dream for the deserving and needy students to continue their higher studies wth the launch of Kiran Bedi Special Scholarship Scheme for Girls in Punjab.
As a part of awareness drive for "Kiran Bedi Scheme for Girls" launched  in Punjab on May 15,  Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group informed in a  press conference  held in Press Club, Ferozepur, today.

Dr. Kataria said, Kiran Bedi, first woman IPS officer of India has launched a special scholarship scheme for girl students at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh.   As per the scheme, 5 girls having more than 90% marks in 10th/10+2 would get 100% scholarship, whereas for 20 girls having more than 75%, half of the fee will be waived off and the other half will be financed in shape of Education Loan by Dena Bank.  Kiran Bedi has also launched a Toll Free Number 1800-30000-388 where students can get registered.

While interacting with media, Dr. Kataria said that as he has been associated with Fazilka and Jalalabad for many years and that?s why he has started the awareness drive from this city. He added that on 15th May.

He further added that ?Kiran Bedi Scholarship Scheme for Girls? is for the deserving students who are not financially strong. He added that under this scheme, scholarships are given purely on Merit-cum-Means basis and it will be partially funded by the Bank, partially by the Student and partially by College.

He also added that students selected under scholarship would study in different courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, B.Com, B.Ed, Nursing, Polytechnic, +1(Non Medical) etc. Dr. Kataria said that 4 years back, Dr Bedi selected some needy students at Aryans campus who were not able to pay study expenses. Those students after completing their courses at Aryans got placed in reputed companies.

The success stories of those students motivated us to continue with the same Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project for coming years also, Dr.Kataria said.  He added that today higher education has become very costly and is out of the reach of the common man. Due to which, many meritorious students also leave their studies in between. Aryans and Dr Kiran Bedi have come forward with a try to fulfill the dreams of needy but deserving students to study higher.
