Aylan Kurdi's father narrates the horrific incident
The entire world was moved by seeing images of the three-year-old Syrian kid, Aylan Kurdi, whose dead body was washed ashore on the Turkish coast yesterday. While talking to BBC, in an interview, Abdullah Kurdi, the distraught father of Aylan, recounted the horrific incidents of the fateful day.

Abdullah Kurdi, who hails from the Syrian town of Kobani, told that 12 people including his wife Rehan and sons Aylan, 3, and Galip, 5, were loaded in a boat by a smuggler, to cross over into Greece. Just four to five minutes into the journey, the driver of the boat  jumped into the sea, sensing danger, as the waves were too high.

Abdullah tried to steer the boat himself, but they slipped from his hands, one by one. The images of young Aylan, lying facedown on the Turkish coast went viral on the social media, engulfing the world into grief and sorrow, and drawing attention towards the migrant crisis in Syria.

Kurdi is a resident of the Syrian border town of Kobani, where Islamic State terrorists are fighting to take control of this strategic town, forcing the Kurds to flee their homeland. Many in a bid to cross over to European nations to seek shelter have perished. The Syrian civil war has so far claimed 2 lakh lives in the past four years and has forced at least 11 million to flee.
