Babri Masjid demolition report rocks parliament
There was uproar in both LoS and RS today, over the issue leading to repeated adjournments. Opposition BJP MPs refused to listen to the assurance of HM P Chidambaram, who promised that the report will be tabled in the Parliament in this session.
BABRI MASJID is once again in the news and the sensitive issue rocked both houses of the Parliament after it was reported that Liberhan Commission report, which has been leaked into the press has severely indicted the top BJP leadership for aiding and abetting the demolition of the disputed structure.

There was uproar in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today ( Monday, November 23), over the issue leading to repeated adjournments. Opposition BJP MPs refused to listen to the assurance of Home Minister P Chidambaram, who promised that the Liberhan Commission report, which probed the demolition of the mosque will be tabled in the Parliament in this session. The Home Minister's assurances came after a political storm engulfed both the Houses over the leakage of the Liberhan report in the media.

Political brouhaha raised fever pitch after it was reported that Liberhan Commission had severely indicted top BJP leadership including former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and the lower rung of party leadership.

As per the report published in media, the entire Babri Masjid demolition was carried out according to a tailor made plan. It also blamed the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh for failing to prevent the demolition.

Former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani criticised the government for leaking the report and demanded that the same be tabled in the House. Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi opined that there were political reasons behind the leakage of the report and asked the government to table it in Parliament.

BJP further alleged that the report was timed to take advantage in the Jharkhand polls as Congress wanted to polarise voters. Both Houses of the Parliament were adjourned today with BJP members demanding the immediate tabling of the Liberhans report in the house.
