'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz' has been cleared by FCAT - this time with eight minor cuts
Although Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz' is yet to release but this film has been in the row since its making. Recent reports suggest that the film has been cleared by Appellate tribunal with "eight minor, voluntary cuts".

This was announced on Wednesday by Kushan Nandy on Twitter. Nandy tweeted, "FCAT clears 'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz' with eight minor, voluntary cuts.  despite Pahlaj Nihalani's latest letter to stop it. See you on August 25".

The Central Board of Film Certification headed by Nihalani had directed 48 cuts in the film. Apart from that, the film also got an 'A' certificate. All thanks to the stringent regulations of the Board.

But with major change and lesser cuts, the director had every possible reason to be thankful to the supporters; he expressed his gratitude to each one who supported him in his battle. The entire movie went through a lot of cuts and edits which we have learnt through various newsfeeds and social media sites.

The news doesn't come as surprise as the newly appointed chairman of the Board, Prasoon Joshi, is said to have much more flexible maxims as compared to the former head.

Nandy also thanked, Indian Film and Television Directors Association and directors.

"Babumoshai Bandookbaaz" was always in the grip of trouble. Sources claim that the film had some objectionable scenes and cuss words as part of its screen play. It is said that the film depicts distressing truths about society and life. It is a story which revolves around the life of a contract killer (Nawazuddin).

Ghalib Asad Bhopali, the writer of the film said that he had portrayed natural facts of society but little had he imagined that the rustic background would catch up with such controversies.

Nawazuddin expressed his concern and justified the movie saying that abusive language was a part of the script and allowed the characters to breathe in the real world. It was a necessity. The trailer of the movie gives us a glimpse of the film with a few intimate scenes and abuses.

The movie, featuring Bidita Bag and Shradha Das, is expected to hit the screens on August 25.
