MEDICOS ACROSS the city have expressed fear that the problem may blow cut of proportion if condition of roads in the city is not improved within a specific time limit. If claims of physiotherapists are to be believed - for four years the number of patients suffering from these problems is increasing by 20 per cent annually and the cause of these ailments is the bumpy ride on the inner and outer roads of the city which is full of ditches and potholes, reported The Times of India.

Figures available in government hospitals reveal that out of every 100 people who visit each day for spinal injuries and skeleto-muscular problems, almost 60 to 70 are the people who drive two-wheelers. Their problems increases even more while driving the vehicle.
A major chunk of patients comprise of youngsters. These problems generally occur in people above the age of 50. Now, around 40 percent patients are youngsters, including school and college students. The main reason for this swelling data is the bad condition of roads. They complain that the pain increases when they are riding a two-wheeler.
"Many a times spinal injuries are caused by driving carelessly on pot-holed roads. It can cause ligament injuries near the joints," Dr. S K Yadav told The Times of India.
