COUNTRY'S LEADING two wheeler manufacturer- Bajaj Auto has declared its first quarter business result. According to the statistics released-India’s second largest two wheeler manufacturer company has shown a 67.4 per cent rise in its net profit for the first quarter of the financial year 2009-10 that ended on June 30.
Bajaj Auto Limited’s net profit has increased from Rs 175 crore to Rs 293 crore while net revenue during the same period has shown a trivial surge from Rs 2224 crore to Rs 2259 crore.
But Bajaj Auto’s sales during the first quarter have shown a marginal decline. It has sold 4.82 lakh bikes in the first quarter of financial year 2009-10, which is less than the corresponding year 2008, when it had sold 5.58 lakh bikes.
Company’s Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj sounded positive with the company’s performance in the first quarter, according to him-Bajaj Auto is planning a comprehensive strategy to meet the various challenges of the two wheeler market. He said, “The Company was looking to upgraded bikes to increase the company’s market share.”
According to industry experts, considering global recession- Bajaj Auto’s first quarter result is very encouraging and is expected to do well in the second quarter.
