A Rapist of 13 years, Balal Khan who raped a woman in front of 2 friends gets jailed for just 3 years because he said sorry.
Khan first beat her up and then asked her to do as he said. He further threatened to kill her, before raping the victim mercilessly. After his horrifying attack, Khan stole her bag and phone. He even took the victim’s boyfriend call and bragged about what he had done to his girlfriend. However, after pleading guilty to charges to rape and robbery, the boy was snetenced to just 3years of jail because of his age and as he said sorry. Khan ran up behind the victim and grabbed her around the neck as she was walking through the secluded area near Cobridge, in Stoke on Trent one evening in September, last year. After grabbing her, he puched and kicked her as she lay on the ground and then rapped her. Two of Khan’s friend aged 10 and 11 stood nearby, watched Khan rape the lady. They even shouted Khan to stop but all in vain. Khan later took the ipod and mobile phone from the bag and sold them, before making a call to his parents home. The police had no problem in tracing him from the phone call records. Khan told the officers that he had tripped the victim and just stolen her bag. But Khan’s DNA on swabs taken from the victim confirmed rape, which Khan later admitted and apologized. Khan was sentenced to 3 years in a young offenders' institution. Do you think that 3 years of jail is enough and justified even if the offender is 13 years of age?
