FOOTBALL STAR Donté Lamar Stallworth , the NFL star who hit the headlines last year for manslaughter charges in Florida, is back in the news again, but this time its for a different reason. He’s been signed by the Baltimore Ravens to a one year contract. Stallworth, who’s regarded as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL at the moment, was benched for one year, due to his one year suspension for the vehicular manslaughter charge.

He’s soon going to be released by the Cleveland Browns and the transfer deal is worth $900,000 with $300,000 as additional incentives. The signing was announced by the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.

In a press statement, Stallward said “I have to prove that, and, hopefully, I'm on my way to doing that. I know my apology will never be strong enough for some, but I've made changes, and I'm trying to be a positive influence. It's an honor and privilege to play in the NFL, and I'm so thankful for this opportunity."

Stallworth has been around in the NFL circuit since 2002, and has played for teams such as New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots.
