Ban on ABVP: BJP leader Ram Madhav says action will be taken against Jammu University VC
The local as well as the central leaders of the BJP have condemned the Jammu University's Vice Chancellor, R D Sharma's decision to ban the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) from the educational institutions of the region.

Calling the action obstinate, BJP General Secretary, Ram Madhav said that action will be taken against the VC. He wrote on Twitter, "BJP ministers take up Jammu Univ VC obstinate behaviour against ABVP. Action wl b taken. (sic)

ABVP is BJP's youth wing and BJP is in alliance with the ruling party in the state.

Reportedly, the ABVP had sought permission from Government Women College, Prade, Jammu, to hold a national executive committee meet. The VC had out rightly rejected this demand. The state's deputy CM and senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh was the guest for the event.

Assembly speaker, Kavinder Gupta, has said that the decision by the VC, to not allow the meeting, was unfortunate and added that such decisions deprive the organisation of its political rights.
