Ban roadside slaughter houses, meat shops
Slaughtering of animals at the roadside is increasing in Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore) and is going on without any restrictions next to the police station. The people have to come together to prevent innocent animals from being killed.
ROADSIDE SLAUGHTER and meat shops should be banned in India. Viewing the horror scenes of animals being slaughtered on the roadsides is a torture for any sensitive person.
Animals are being slaughtered in unhygienic conditions posing a threat to the health of the consumers besides causing nuisance to residents. Slaughtering animals at the roadside is increasing in Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore) and is going on without any restrictions next to the police station. The Govt of Tamil Nadu has to take immediate action against those criminal activites running throughout Tamil Nadu and other parts of the nation.
Animals like buffaloes, cows, goats and chicken are slaughtered and sent to other states is increasingly large quantity. I would request organisations like PFA, PETA etc to take severe action to stop such activities. The slaughtered animals are transported to states like Kerala via the National Highways. This news is not a campaign against non-vegetarians, it’s a request not to kill innocent animals who too have a right to live in this world. Everyone has the right to live in this world. The slaughtering of animals at the roadside is a horror sight for the children going to schools. The Supreme Court of India has to take severe legal action to ban such activities and the police has to be directed by the court to stop such slaughter and roadside meat shops be closed. Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has many legal provisions as give below:
- The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960
- Transport of Animals Rules, 1978
- Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Transport of Animals on Foot) Rules, 2001
- Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(Establishment & Regulation of Socities) Rules, 2001
- Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(Slaughter House) Rules, 2001
- Transport of Animals (Amendment) Rules, 2001
There are Supreme Court directives too for banning illegal roadside slaughter and meat shops in India. Maneka Gandhi has launched a campaign on this issue and PFA is trying to ban such activities with the help of the legal system throughout India. Now the people have to come together to stop such inhuman activities and prevent innocent animals from being killed.
