Bank of America website down:Cyber attack behind showdown?
Thousands of customers of the Bank of America suffered a showdown as the website halted due to 'unknown' reasons. The showdown has led to a massive net banking failure, putting on hold transactions of millions of customers.

THOUSANDS OF customers of the Bank of America suffered a showdown as the website halted due to ‘unknown’ reasons. Until Friday afternoon, people were at least able to view 50 percent of the content online. However by late evening, the website completely stopped working.

The showdown has led to a massive net banking failure, putting on hold transactions of millions of customers. A cyber attack is being speculated to be behind the problem.

A Bank of America spokeswoman said that while the company's online banking service is available, it is working with its partners to determine the root cause of the Web site's unavailability.

The situation has fuelled speculation that the site has fallen victim to a cyber attack. However so far nothing has been confirmed. Sources indicated that readers were apparently still able to use Bank of America applications for mobile banking on iPhone and Blackberry devices, but the Bank of America site itself was unloadable.
