BARBARA WALTERS, 80-year-old creator of “The View” announced on Monday that she will be taking time off starting later his week. She will undergo heart surgery to replace a heart valve.
Walter said, “I thought best not to talk about it too far in advance.” She was well aware of the problem for many months and trying to manage time so it could not affect the business. With the break in July and busy schedule in August she and her doctors decided that now was good time to take care of business.
The recovery process normally takes one to three months. Keeping her old age in mind, it might take longer than usual.
Well when asked if she scared, she replied, “It is not elective, it is not like…having your face lifted. I don’t think I am really scared, I am glad it is going to be over with, it is going to be taken care of.”She will be back in action, in her words she plans to come “roaring back” in September. Barbara Jill Walters, born in September 1925, is an American broadcast journalist, who has co-hosted morning television shows, “ Today” and “The View”, the television newsmagazine (20/20) and co-anchor of ABC Evening News and ABC World News. Walters has been married three times. She once told The New York Times, “I am convinced that you stay married when the days are bad, only because you really want to be. But I always had an out. I had this job, and this life and enough money. I did not have to fight the bad days.”
