Barr as an alternative to Republicans and Democrats
The major political parties of US, called Republicans and Democrats love to use the term 'political experience'. But the country needs real government addressing the problems of the people, instead of career politicians who do nothing.

I AM sick and tired of the so called experts talking about political experience. We have the Republicans (and certain Democrats) talking about Obama’s lack of experience, taking into account that he was a senator. We have the Democrats (and certain Republicans) talking about Sarah Palin’s lack of experience, taking into account her election as a mayor of a small town in Alaska called Wasila and being governor of Alaska. Even Hagel (a Washington politician) has called on McCain to refrain from using the proximity of Alaska to Russia as a foreign policy experience. The only time there is this union is when the Republicans and Democrats decide to criticise the Libertarians and Greens by accusing them of lacking experience in government.

Why and how did "political experience" come into the equation? The Libertarian Party under the leadership of Bob Barr believes that the concept of political experience is pure nonsense. The governance of the United States of America left to "so called experts" has been nothing more and nothing less than a disaster. Many times, becoming "experienced" in the corridors of power becomes the equivalent of an "elected dictator" with the "elected dictator" saying "look at my resume; I have all of the qualifications that my opponent does not have."

It is this experience that converts the corridors of power in the United States into nothing more than a government by the few who do not represent the people but represent their interests and have the perks of power. We have paid for the "political experience" with the failed war in Iraq and other areas of the Middle East. We are paying for the "political experience" with the current instability that exists in the financial markets and social security. We are paying for the political experience by having a healthcare system that is broken.

There was a time in the history of America when there was less government, and the people ran for office for a period of time. Whatever happened to running a country based on two terms in office? If we have a president who is limited to two terms, why should we have a Congress, Supreme Court, or even a House of Representatives, which are elected over and over again and become experienced?

It is for this reason that I am voting for Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party. I am voting for a person who does not believe in the need for political experience. I am voting for a person who believes that the important thing to do in order to have good governance and domestic tranquility is to return United States to the basics. What are the basics of the United States of America? It is a Republic, in which people regardless of race, class, expertise and even concepts could run without the need to bow down to special interest groups. The Constitution of 1787 and the declaration of independence did not say anything with regards to political experience. The Constitution of 1787 and the declaration of Independence talked about the need for people to govern with checks and balances. There was an unspoken tradition of serving your country in the posts elected for a limited time and then give the other person an opportunity.

Barr has the political experience but he also has the vision that people with too much political experience wielding political power for too long a time eventually lose. Barr also believes that people with political experience eventually convert to elected dictators. I agree with Barr and the Libertarian Party on these premises and that the country should have real government addressing the problems of the people, instead of career politicians who do nothing.

For Ron and Ralph: I get it that you are from the Republicans and Democrats. I know that they have a section to repress Independents in order for only Republicans and Democrats to have their voice heard. Regardless, you are only showing your true colours, dictatorship.
