BBMB harassing PSEB engineers: Association

PSEB engineers' association has condemned the harassment of Punjab cadre power engineers by the BBMB management. The association, in a letter to BBMB Chairman, has alleged that the BBMB management is repeatedly harassing and humiliating the Punjab cadre engineers.

Recently MS Khural, Chief Engineer, who was posted in the BBMB in December 2012 against the vacancy arising out of retirement of R S Lamba, was not allowed to join.

The BBMB management instead of giving him the posting orders delayed his joining and after a lot of humiliation, he was given a lower post at Talwara. Now Khural has been relieved from the BBMB without any orders from PSPCL.

It may be mentioned that Khural has served BBMB for more than two decades. The post of CE system operation is of PSEB /PSPCL share quota, MS Khural CE was deputed to the BBMB against this vacancy.

Even earlier, Sanjay Tandon was also given similar treatment in the BBMB. Recently A K Modgil, a thermal engineer, who never worked in any Hydro project, was handpicked by BBMB without his consent and was made to join his new posting at Nangal.

Last month, BBMB Chairman has stopped the salary of a superintending engineer, posted at Chandigarh. According to sources, the chairman gave written instructions to FA BBMB after the salary of a peon posted at Panipat was delayed. The peon is reportedly a relative of chairman’s driver.

It may also be mentioned that BBMB had been recommending extension in services to Haryana cadre senior engineers after their retirements against the service rules. The case of chief engineer /transmission and secretary BBMB are glaring examples.
