Be value oriented conscientious person to live and serve well
Conscientiousness has been considered to be one of the most valuable human virtues. Both upbringing and early education must promote conscientiousness in the formative years, Scribe Abhijit Naskar in his work has aptly put, "Now is the time that we make conscientious efforts towards becoming a real wise species, free from all sorts of bigotry, mysticism and sectarianism." He advices the human race thus, "Be pure, live a conscientious life, defend your dignity and be loving to others."

If we fail to produce really a large majority of people with conscientiousness through our societal institutions, we can be enslaved easily as M.F. Moonzajer puts it, "For enslaving a nation, just kill the conscientious people, the rest can be bought."

I have written elsewhere that conscientiousness is the value-based, goal-oriented and well-organised mindset for accomplishment of academic and work-related tasks which acquire deliberate or mindful execution through learning, training and practice.

The individual, who is un-conscientious, tends to be more disorganized and exhibits impulsive behaviour frequently.

On the other hand, the behaviour of conscientious persons is goal-oriented. They use their own initiative to set well defined, tangible and well-articulated goals, and then make concerted efforts to achieve them.

Here is an ABC poem on conscientiousness.

A: Assiduous attentiveness for focus on articulated and shared aim

B: Belief in oneself or will power to achieve the set aim

C: Carefulness and taking cautions for prevention of risks and failures

D: Detailing and accomplishing tangible actions with diligence

E: Exactness through mid-course reviews for corrections to achieve precision, accuracy, effectiveness, efficiency and quality
