Beauty on wheels: The all new Mercedes Benz E 220d
The new Mercedes Benz E 220d sedan which was launched on Friday by the company, has been priced at Rs 57.14 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).

Along with E 350d diesel and the E 200 petrol, E 220d is an addition to the company's long wheelbase E-Class collection.

The new E220d comes equipped with the OM 654 – the new 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine – assembled at the German automaker's Chakan plant. This will replace the older 2.1-litre diesel engine. It is also for the first time that a step-bowl combustion technology has been used in a passenger car. The new 2.0-litre oil burner would deliver 194 bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. It takes 7.8 seconds to reach a speed of 100 km/hr with a top speed of 240kmph.

Mercedes Car

This model is more powerful, lighter & economical (consumes around 13 per cent less fuel) due to its next generation diesel technology.

The model also has reduced CO2 emission with a combination of aluminum engine block and steel pistons being used in it along with a further-improved nano-slide coating of the cylinder walls.

Mercedes Car Exterior

The model features LED headlamps and tail lamps (as expected), panoramic sunroof (the Mercedes thing) and 17" light alloy wheels that come with a chrome trim.

Ambient lighting with 64 colours and five dimming levels, the new model also features touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel and electric sunblinds for rear windows.

The car also comes equipped with COMAND Online with a 12.3 inch media display that can be integrated with smartphone and compatible with both Android and Apple CarPlay.
