Bejoy Nambiar has carried on his 'Shaitaan' reputation by coming up with another out of the box, quirky and eccentric dark film, David. The film, which released Friday in all theatres across, has an intriguing line of story: three men, three different times and places but all being each other's namesake - David.
Nambiar's storytelling technique is unique as he weaves all the three characters played by Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vikram and Vinay Virmani into each other despite all the three stories being different from each other. With all the three elements of action, romance and comedy the film holds the attention of its audience till the very end.
Neil Nitin Mukesh was absent from the screen for quite some time now but with David, he makes a huge splash. In the film, he plays the role of London-bred David who is raised by a gangster in 1975. Another David, Virmani, plays the role of a middle class man in Mumbai of 1999. He is also an aspiring singer. South Indian superstar Vikram essays the role of a fisherman in Goa in 2011.
The songs are woven well with the stories and the transition from one story to the next is smooth. It is a very refreshing movie, due to its different story line and the way Nambiar deals with it.
