Benaullim NCP MLA Mickky to contest from Nuvem
Nuvem is presently part of Loutolim constituency which is represented by Congress party's Aleixo Sequeira (Power Minister) and the NCP and the Congress are in a coalition government at the state and in the Centre.
CURRENT BENAULLIM NCP MLA Francisco Xavier Pacheco alias Mickky will contest from the Nuvem constituency. Mickky’s close aide and his former officer on special duty Lyndon Monteiro informed on Friday.

Monteiro made the announcement that Mickky would contest from the Nuvem constituency instead of Benaullim. The announcement might have been a cause for hiccups to Congressmen, as Pacheco currently represents the Benaulim constituency. Nuvem is presently part of Loutolim constituency which is represented by Congress party's  Aleixo Sequeira (Power Minister) and the NCP and the Congress are in a coalition government at the state and in the Centre.

Sources say that Mickky has informed the high command about his desire to contest from Nuvem and asked the high command to accommodate him. Lyndon also stated that seat sharing of NCP-Congress coalition will not affect Miccky’s desire to contest from Nuvem as he is a senior NCP member and high command will not say no to his demand.

When asked Monteiro why Mickky is deserting Benaulim Constituency, he said Mickky was a voter from Nuvem and hence desired to contest from there. The development could also upset the NCP-Congress seat sharing equations as the PWD Minister Churchill Alemao’s daughter Valanka has already expressed her desire to contest from Benaulim irrespective of Congress party’s decision. In fact, the Alemaos have kick-started Valanka’s election campaign with much fanfare.
