Betting, sex, sleaze, plundering thy name is IPL
The sex, sleaze, and deceitful tale of the IPL that erupted with the arrest of three cricketers allegedly involved in spot fixing is revealing shocking details with every passing day. In a nation where cricket is deemed as a religion and cricketers like legendary Sachin Tendulakar, Rahul Dravid and Kapil Dev seen as inspiration by insane cricket lovers, the revelation is a huge embarrassment.

Speculations were rife over the involvement of bookies, betting syndicate, however, nobody thought not even in the wildest dreams, the fathom of rot and kingpins under the garb of celebrities and cricketers. We must congratulate Delhi Police for exposing another scandal, the IPL Gate…our incredible India has been witnessing scandals galore, including 2G Gate, CWG Gate, Adarsh Gate, Mining Gate and Teachers’ Gate.

The can of worms exposed by Delhi Police clearly brings under scanner the very conduct of the IPL bigwigs, BCCI, and celebrities…their nexus with bookies have been established. Grilling of Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan is exposing many a so-called famous personalities.

The son of legendary wrestler, Dara Singh, Vindoo has been arrested for his links with bookies…his interrogation has raised grave questions on the very operation of the IPL, how it is being run. Police have raided many a hideouts of bookies across the nation, including Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Kolkata, and has confiscated incriminating material.

For us cricket is a religion as our veins are entrenched in cricket. It hurts when we come across fixing scandals. However, we don’t reflect spine to surmount this termite, curse as those who are spearheading the BCCI are themselves immersed in corruption.

BCCI chief Srinivasan is the owner of Chennai Super Kings. India Cement, a company owned by Srinivasan has Dhoni as Vice President, who is not only the captain of India but also of the CSK. Open conflict of interest. Srinivasan didn’t remove Dhoni from captainship of Indian team though team was thrashed in England and Australia. Reasons are obvious. Stakes of the CSK will tumble down. Gullible Indians are fooled. Does this not amount to conflict of interest? Why will Srinivasan remove Dhoni from the captainship of India team as his presence as captain raises stakes of the CSK.

People are shocked with the filthy revelations. Vinay Gupta, an engineer with an MNC termed the whole incident as unfortunate. He said: “Fans are being cheated. IPL Gate is really an unfortunate incident. We love cricket and it hurts, when we are told that matches were scripted.”

That’s just a tip of the iceberg. Vindoo spilled the beans further. The CEO of the CSK, Meiyappan is also neck deep in betting. What is shocking is Meiyappan is son-in-law of Srinivasan. As per police interrogation, Vindoo revealed Meiyappan invested heavily in betting, reaching up to Rs. 1 crore.

Every day, every moment, one after the other murky details are coming out in open, indicating how deep the rot runs in the IPL. A casting director is also under the scanner for sharing pictures of models and would be actresses with Sreesanth. Marathi actress is also being probed for her links with Sreesanth. Sex, sleaze, plundering, betting, nepotism thy name is IPL.
