How to check the expiry date of an LPG cylinder:
On one of the three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically as A or B or C or D followed by two digits, which indicate the year, eg D-06.


The alphabets stand for the quarter of the month:

• A for January to March (first quarter)
  
• B for April to June (second quarter)
  
• C for July to September (third quarter)
  
• D for October to December (fourth quarter)
  
  
  

The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D-06 would mean December quarter of 2006.


Always be aware that you should check the expiry date of a LPG cylinder to avoid any mishaps. And do remember to share this detail with all you know. This can save many lives, who are unaware of this fact. And please do not accept any expired LPG cylinder from the vendor.
