Bharat Desai on Forbes list of self made stars
Bharat Desai, a billionaire who did his MBA from Michigan University in finance, has been a pillar for the company Syntel. The company which he founded in 1980, has, as per records on April 28, 2009, an employee base of around 12 thousand people.
WORLD RENOWNED business publication Forbes, has placed Bharat Desai, an Indian origin American, on its list of the top eight self made stars. He has been selected from the list of top 200 small companies with business spread across America and others countries and who have had a great impact on the lives of Americans.

Bharat Desai, a billionaire who did his MBA from Michigan University in finance, has been a pillar for the company Syntel. The company which he founded in 1980, has, as per records on April 28, 2009, an employee base of around 12 thousand people spread globally and with a market capitalisation of $943 million.

His business acumen and leadership qualities, have fetched him numerous prestigious awards including, Entrepreneur of the year by the university of Michigan’s Stephen M Ross School of Business and IIT Alumnus of the year award from IIT, Mumbai. Desai is also on the boards of several well known educational institutes, namely John F Kennedy School of Government, HarvardUniversity and Stephen M Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He holds an engineering degree from IIT Mumbai and along with his wife was ranked 286, two years ago, in the Forbes list of 400.
