AFTER THE huge success of the Delhi metro, people around the country are looking for improved form of public transportation, which would make their travel within the city a comfortable one. So, in the latest development, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managign Director E Sreedharan has given a go ahead for the Bhopal metro too, which would be a great achievement for the people of Madhya Pradesh.
He remained very positive about the metro project and also said that if everything goes off well then the people of Bhopal would be travelling in the metro in the next four years or so. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is expected to submit a detailed report about the project to the Madhya Pradesh government.
This should be great news for the tourism sector in Bhopal, too, as there are numerous tourist locations in the city, and the metro would reap benefit from it, if these tourists destination could be made accessible by the metro. The number of footfalls in these spots could also increase with the introduction of the metro.
According to reports it is said that the project could see four different routes, which will be covered by the metro. The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 11,275 crores. As the expenses are going to be huge, so it has been reported that around 50 to 70 percent of the expenditure will be taken as loan from countries such as Japan, France, Germany.
People in Bhopal need to be patient for another four years, after which they would be one of the lucky people in the country who have metro facilities at their disposal.
