BIG 92.7 FM emerges clear leader
BIG 92.7 FM, India’s number one FM station and a radio initiative from Adlabs Films Ltd has created history by launching its 45-station network in 18 months. It has again proved its leadership as it emerged as a clear leader in 16 non-RAM markets
BIG 92.7 FM, India’s number one FM station has proved again that it is not the leader in just the metros but across mini metros and smaller towns as well. With the largest network of 44 stations spread across the Indian sub-continent, BIG FM has come out with flying colours by capturing the highest share in some markets. After consolidating its leadership position in Mumbai and Bangalore, BIG FM has proved its superiority by taking the top spot across 16 cities in India.

According to IRS, Indica and Mode, BIG FM is number one in Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ranchi, Surat, Baroda, Mysore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Bhubaneshwar, Asansol, Guwahati, Amritsar, Aligarh, Bikaner, Jammu and Jhansi (IRS). BIG FM’s success primarily emerges from the quality of its content, radio jockey (RJ) talk, innovation and local connect. Unique on-ground events and the popularity enjoyed by its RJ’s have also helped it to capture the number one spot across these markets. In a short span of two years, BIG FM has yet again proved its supremacy in major markets through constant service leadership.

Mini metros are increasingly becoming important for marketers as the radio now provides unique and cost-effective options to connect with small towns across India. These are unexplored markets, which have huge untapped potential and hence there is a need for assessment of radio usage patterns for optimal usage of this medium. Agencies like IRS, Indica and Mode provide us with statistics and usage patterns of listeners across cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Surat, Bhubaneshwar, etc which help the marketer to make the right choice.
