Another team, Manchester United, surprisingly were not very active this transfer window, but in the final transfer deadline day, they brought in a big fish, Marouane Fellani, the Belgian star from Everton. David Moyes was keen to get his former player Fellani and Baines, but was only successful in signing Fellani for reportedly, 27.5 million pounds.
Fellani has been brought in to strengthen their midfield, which has been lacking in the EPL so far. There were some other players that Manchester United targeted on the final transfer day, but they had to satisfy themselves with this solo signing.
Romelu Lukaku, who was expected to be a key figure for Chelsea this season after spending last year on loan to West Brom has once again been sent out on loan to Everton, another one year loan. This could prove to be Everton's signing of the year with the quality that Lukaku possesses. Apart from this, Everton also signed Gareth Barry from Manchester City for loan. But, Wigan Athletic playmaker James McCarthy has signed for 13 million pounds as a permanent deal to be a part of Roberto Martinez side.
