HIP HOP performers from all over, are remembering one of the most prolific rappers in the music's history, Biggie Smalls today, who passed away in a drive by shooting thirteen years ago, on march 9. Christopher George Latore Wallace, known as Biggie Smalls or The Notorious B.I.G, is known for delivering numbers like his debut single Juicy and albums like Ready to Die, Conspiracy and Life after Death.

Biggie smalls or Notorious B.I.G is credited with bringing in a gangsta era image, or the Mafioso to Hip Hop. Growing up at the peak of the crack epidemic and drug scene of the 1980s, he took to dealing drugs at a young age, dropping school and becoming embroiled in further crime. His school mates had included names like Busta Rhymes and Jay Z.

For Christopher Wallace, Biggie smalls or the Notorious B.I. G, rap was way to rise above his life choices and led him to instantly becoming a key player of the East Coast Hip Hop scene, with the release of his debut album Ready to Die in 1994. Till then, he had been arrested on weapon charges and for dealing in drugs like cocaine and crack.

In 1995, Biggie Small promoted his neighbourhood crew that included Lil' Cease and Lil' Kim, Junior M.A.F.I.A.

After the birth of his daughter, he went back to drug dealing, in order to support his family financially,
which led to a break from Sean Combs, with whom he had a contract at the Bad Boy records. He was also embroiled in a West Coast East Coast Feud.

Many people today remember Biggie Smalls for his song Juicy, which gave an honest view into his life and the fiancial toubles which brought him back to hustling and drug dealing. In Juicy, he talked about how his teachers had believed that he would not amount to anything, his dreams to make it big via rapping and the like.
