Bihar hostage crisis finally ends, Maoists release three cops
The news was first broken by the Maoists as they called up family members of the cops. A naxal leader said that the policemen were to be released on Sunday itself but due to 'strategic problems' they were not able to do so.

THE BIHAR hostage crisis finally ended on Monday morning, when Maoists released three policemen who were abducted from Lakhisarai district. The policemen had been kept hostage for 9 days.

Director General of Police, Neelmani confirmed the news and said that the policemen were safe and healthy. He further stated that all the three abducted policemen were released by the Maoists from the Kajra-Chanan forest in Lakhisarai district after the police sealed the escape routes of the ultras in the forests and hills.

The news was first broken by the Maoists as they called up family members of the cops. A naxal leader told the local media present there that the policemen were to be released on Sunday itself but due to “strategic problems” they were not able to do so.

The three policemen were found in a Tata Safari at around 6:30 am and were escorted back to Patna by 7 am. After being released, one of the three cops said that they were happy that all the three have been released. The cops said the naxals did not behave badly with them and gave them food.
