Bike rally organised on Republic Day for Rezang La war families in Gurgaon
We hear of flag hoisting, national anthem singing and even sweets distribution to honour Republic Day in our country. However, none of the above was done by Dr. T.C. Rao (the initiator of the memorial Rezang La Chowk) and Rashtriya Shaheed Parivar Kalyan Foundation Gurgaon. On the contrary, they organised a bike rally for the 65 th Republic Day.

The rally, which had Palam Vihar, Rezang La Chowk as its initiation point and it saw the Indian Army Fans Bikers Expedition group participating. General Balbir Singh, who is the Chairperson of the Indian ex Services League opened the rally with the show of a flag and the entire troupe headed towards Manesar.

Before the rally headed off to their destination, General Balbir Singh also addressed the rally and reminded them about the rules and regulations of Traffic and road safety. TC Rao said that through this bike rally retired army men, war widows and their family members would feel that the sacrificed made by their family is still recognized and remembered. He also added facts about the Rezang La war fought in 1962 by India.

The Bikers rally expedition group was honoured with a shawl and a token. The rally was lead by Krsihna Kant Yadav and co captained by Nera Singh. Around 200 bikers were participating in the rally including 17 female members. During the rally, en-route the members met with the families of the soldiers who died at the war.

Away from the usual Republic day celebration, the rally was pleasantly innovative for Gurgaon residents.
