Billionaire Peter Theil is funding research for developing herpes vaccine through unapproved human trials
One of the Silicon Valley's top famous names, Peter Thiel has reportedly been funding a reserach that is aimed at creating a vaccine for herpes but the problem is that the project is completely illegal. What makes the research illegal is that it violates US safety rules on conducting human clinical trials.

As per reports, as of now Theil has invested $7 million in the research. As per reports, the research has been supported by the Southern Illinois University as well. In a press release issued by the University, it had termed the results of the research as "impressive".

But what makes the research illegal? The researchers have been including humans as subjects on which the drugs are tried, thus putting them at an increased risk of life. Why makes things worse is that there is no regulatory body like the FDA that is overseeing these trials.

As per reports, 20 people were flown from the US to be used as subjects of the experiment. Mostly, in such cases, the subjects are informed of the trial and the experiment, but to what extent are they informed of the risks involved, is never clear.

In many cases, if the subjects are exposed to fatal risks. The researchers have claimed that they themselves did not know that such conditions could also occur.

While the research is not illegal but is considered highly unethical, especially on part of a businessman who has been advising the President of the country.

Rational Vaccines, the company conducting the research has claimed to be on the verge of finding a cure to herpes. But it has come under fire form the researchers for violating decades of advancements in protocols built to safeguard human lives from unapproved clinical trials.
