Bing: But Its Not Google
Microsoft is all set to launch, Bing, software giants answer to Google. Bing is referred to as not only a search engine but also a decision engine, which would help the users take the right decision. Bing stands for- 'But it's not google'.
STEVE BALLMER, Chief Executive Officer Microsoft, unveiled the re-branded search engine Kumo - Bing at the D 7: All things digital conference in San Diego on Thursday (May 28). Microsoft's default search, Live Search would be replaced by Bing. Microsoft will be offering the search results of Bing in the Live Search to select users from June 1 and from June 3.
Bing is referred to as not only a search engine but also a decision engine, which would help the users take the right decision. In contrast to Google's search results, which are of web links, Bing boasts of crawling over local information providing social services like Yelp and CitySearch.
Bing has an edge over Google's search in terms of its visual presentation of search results. A search technology company Powerset, which Microsoft acquired last year, is being used for Bing.
The semantic search technology is helpful in getting realted searches, thus improving the generic search results. Bing, like Google, also offers the search keywords as soon as any word is typed. By collating both user and product reviews, Bing provides a nice overview of any product, by getting informations from data mash-ups. Shopping experience would reach a new level as results will be shown with prices comparison.
For any specific query about a product, one gets to see more localised result by clicking on Local and More Listings. More accurate and complete local results would require additional local data being fed and sourced. Extra clicks, time and few data connection would be used as in the search results then the mouse pointer is hovered, the text excerpt from the respective page pops up, providing the Quick Preview feature. The most recent and the relevant search tops the results displayed.

- Bing Travel Rate Key: Comparison of the hotel's the location, price and amenities will be represented in colour coded manner
Bing is believed to be an interactive search alternative for casual Internet users and on a lighter note, Bing stands for But its not google.
