Birthday gift to Queen's Kangana Ranaut: Gets National Award for 'best actress'
Kangana Ranaut who celebrated her 28th birthday on March 23, got a very pleasant gift in the form of National Award for 'best actress' for her superb performance in the film 'Queen'.
Kangana's Queen, a comedy-drama film was released in 2014. The film was directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who was also nominated for the Best Actress award for her movie Mary Kom, congratulated actress Kangana Ranaut for bagging the National Award for Best Actress, for her role in Queen.

The 62nd National Film Awards which were announced yesterday declared Marathi film Court as Best Feature Film and Mary Kom as Best popular Film providing wholesome entertainment.

National Award for best actor went to Sanchari Vijay for his performance in Kannada film Nanu Avanalla Avalu.

The jury consisted of directors P. Bharathiraja (Feature Film Jury), Kamal Swaroop (Non-Fiction Feature Film Jury) and Ziya Us Salam (Writing on Film Jury).

Hindi feature film Haider bagged five National Film Awards, but Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is a bit disappointed for Shahid, as he was expecting an award for Shahid's performance in the movie.
