Birthday Special: Shahrukh Khan's must-watch Films
From Deewana to Dilwale, the much-loved actor and Bollywood's King Khan has played several roles in his extended film career. While he has earned the tag of industry's most romantic hero, he also gained admiration, love and immense respect from the industry. The lover boy's portrayal of Raj and Rahul indeed helped his career to grow and no one can match the way Shahrukh Khan romances on-screen.

Moreover, the impeccable actor has also proved that there is lot more to him than just being lovey-dovey. Today, the actor has turned 50, and we wish him a very Happy Birthday. Here are a few must-watch films of Shahrukh Khan, no one can afford to miss. Take a look:

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

DDLJ is an epic love story of all time. It is such an amazing blockbuster that not only earned well at the box-office but also found its way into everyone's heart instantly. In fact, it will remain the favorite love story for generations to come. The film has amazing story line with ace actors playing the lead role. DDLJ has established many records that is hard to break for any Bollywood movie of these days. The movie is about how Raj (Shahrukh) and Simran (Kajol) meet on a trip to Europe and fall in love.

My Name Is Khan

My Name Is Khan portrays the difficulties and sacrifices that a Muslim man faces in America post 9/11 and how the world changes towards a particular community. While in the beginning, the film appears to be a love story, later it become clear that Rizvan Khan (played by SRK) is not just a typical lover but a lot more than that. Actually, he suffers from Asperger's syndrome and sees the world in a very simplistic way. No doubt, Khan portrayed Rizvan so well that it compelled the audience to empathize with his pain. The film has a well written story that shows the grim reality of our world.

Chak De! India

Chak De! India is about Kabir Khan, a coach (Shahrukh) who plays a hockey coach to the national womens team. The film is all about how the coach prepares his team to compete at the international level and how eventually they win the world championship. A really inspiring tale makes it a must- watch! The film had no famed names in the cast except Khan, but did relatively good business due to its enthralling story line.

Devdas

Devdas (Shahrukh) comes back home to India after studying for 10 years in London. He plans to marry Paro (Aishwarya Rai), his childhood love, but his wealthy family stops him from marrying her as she belongs to a family from a line of dancers and lower caste. Eventually, Paro marries another man who is wealthy but is much older than her while despondent Devdas descends into fatal alcoholism. The portrayal is mesmerizing and it is a wonderful tale of immense love between Devdas, Paro and Chandramukhi (Madhuri Dixit).

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a one of its kind love triangle that keeps movie geeks glued to their seats till it ends. Filled with emotions, love, friendship and all sorts of fun and drama, the film is indeed a must-watch.

Main Hoon Na

Well, this is another SRK film based on quite a different plot of terrorism and India-Pakistan relationship. This film is about an army major who disguises as a college student to fight terrorism. He has both professional and personal missions as he has to protect his general's daughter from radical militants besides finding his estranged half-brother.

Kal Ho Naa Ho

Kal Ho Naa Ho is another love story filled with emotions that will indeed make you cry. It is the story of Naina, an introvert girl who remains perpetually depressed. Her life changes when she encounters Aman. However, Aman has a secret of his own and there the film takes a major turn changing their lives forever. Entangled in all this is Naina's best buddy Rohit who eventually falls in love with Naina and expresses his love for her at the end.

Swades

Although Swades failed to garner much eyeballs, it can be termed as one of the best movies of Shahrukh Khan due to its rich content. With this film the actor quieted all his critics who never considered him as a genuine actor. The film is all about an urbane man who fails to understand village ways. But gradually he changes into someone who happily embraces his roots. This movie portrays a different side of SRK.
