Sawaraj also said that the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress president must apologise for the remarks made by Shinde.
According to media reports Rajnath Singh, the newly elected BJP president has also demanded Shinde's sacking for his remarks. He said that the BJP will disrupt the budget session of the parliament if the home minister is not sacked.
Another BJP leader Balbir Punj also criticized Shinde for his statement and termed it “anti-national”. Punj demanded that Shinde should be charged under sedition.
