BJP mum over 'discrimination' against Jammu for sake of power: Shri Ram Sena
Jammu, March 21: Reiterating his demand to end discrimination with Jammu region, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan said that discrimination was suffered by the people of Jammu at the hands of Kashmiri leaders as successive state and Central governments sat as mute spectators.

"The various governments at the state and Centre were not only a mute spectator but also followed a policy of appeasement towards the Kashmiri leadership that continues till today," said Rajiv Mahajan, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

This policy, he said, not only discouraged the people of Jammu but also made the Kashmiri leadership more discriminating towards people of Jammu region.

He also said that there was a feeling among the people of Jammu region that they have been discriminated against and have not been given their rightful share in development.

He said it is sad that the Kashmiri people chose to live with militancy and support Pakistan instead of India but it is sadder for people of Jammu that although they chose to be peaceful and be a part of India, yet they were treated like stepchildren.

He strongly opposed the policy of using different yard sticks for Jammu province and Kashmir province always making the Kashmir Valley the beneficiary and depriving Jammu province of just and fair deal.

He expressed great resentment on the selection of candidates by the State Public Service Commission for government jobs, selection of sportspersons by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council for training where Jammu region has again been ignored.

Taking dig at State Sports Council, Rajiv Mahajan said it has sponsored around 30 sportspersons from Kashmir for special training at KC Sports Club without considering any of the sportsperson of the Jammu region.

Moreover, he said, it is a matter of great astonishment that the BJP, the coalition partner and voice of Jammu remains a mute spectator on the issue and does not utter a single word on the issue of discrimination against Jammu region in all spheres.

He questioned on the part of BJP in coalition whether it can raise voice opposing discrimination against Jammu region by Kashmir-based politicians or will keep mum for the sake of the chair.
